“I love having an art walk on Capitol Hill!" says Rachelle Hunt a Capitol Hill resident and September Blitz reveler. “It’s the one night I really walk around and stop at all the stores and check stuff out. I go every month and am always impressed with the range of art I get to see.”
Ellen Forney, local artist and Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce Arts and Entertainment Committee co-chair says, “Blitz features a dynamic range of visual and performing arts in venues throughout the neighborhood, including galleries, coffee shops, private studios, and street corners. Blitz showcases works many might otherwise miss, on the walls of coffee shops, retailers, and other corners of the neighborhood.”
Seattle is the number one city for artist related businesses in the nation, with Capitol Hill being the most densely populated and home to more musicians and artists per capita than any other neighborhood. Given that so many artists and musicians are living, working and playing here, our coffee shops, bars, restaurants, boutiques, galleries and music venues are infused with the local showings of talent. Visiting these venues is the best way to see the vibrant collection of artistic expression this eclectic neighborhood has to offer. Produced by the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce, the Blitz Arts Walk engaging and entertaining for enthusiastic walkers, businesses, and artists in our vibrant, quirky, artsy neighborhood.
